The Newborn King

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  Are you done your Christmas shopping yet?  We had one last thing to pick up today, and boy were we glad it was just an in and out stop.  The mall is CRAZY.  I hope everyone is being kind to the mall staff - so glad I don't work in retail anymore.

Here's the Christmas card for today.  I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) it from Mary Jo.  I love the beautiful rich colors of this card, as well as the white embossing used to make the manger scene really stand out.  This of course features The Newborn King stamp set from the 2014 Stampin' Up! Holiday catalogue, and the in colors Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow.  Hope you like!  See you tomorrow for another card :) <3 JEM

Holiday Home

Hey everyone!  I finally figured out how to get my Christmas cards done... Ready for it?  Stop procrastinating and just do it.  Sheer genius, I know.  Anyway, I finished all my Christmas cards on Saturday and now just have the task of writing and sending them all out!  So for the next few days I'll be sharing all the different cards I made this year.

This card features the Holiday Home stamp set from last year's Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue.  I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) this card from the lovely Laura.  I enjoy many of her creations - be sure to check out her site!  A few things I did differently were using a different order for the background houses and a different border punch.  The background houses are embossed with Pool Party powder for a nice texture.  Enjoy! <3 JEM

Cheerful Christmas

Wow - I can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted!!!  Life has been so busy with a stamp camp, my first craft fair, and trying to get my own Christmas cards done in time!  Today I finished another batch of cards, so I forced myself to come downstairs to the computer to share. 

This card was CASEd(Copy And Share Everything) from the lovely Brian King.  I just love all of the little ornaments in the Cheerful Christmas stamp set from Stampin' Up's 2014 Holiday Catalogue.  I wasn't so fond of cutting out 24 of the little dudes, but I got it done.  When Brian created this card last year, he used the now discontinued Blendabilities markers to color the pearls.  I didn't have that option so I tried using the Stampin' Write markers.  Big mistake!  The ink is not alcohol based, so it never really dried and I had to rub it off with some paper towel.  I had tried leaving it on overnight, but no go.  Fortunately, it did stain the pearls a bit, so there is still a bit of color.  I did have to use a bit of white out on a few of the cards where some smudging happened, but hopefully no one will ever notice!!  Anyway, for those of you who want to know the colors I used, here they are: Night of Navy card stock, Soft Sky card stock, Lost Lagoon card stock and ink, and Whisper White card stock and craft ink with silver embossing powder.  I love how the embossing makes the ornaments shine!  Hope you enjoyed - I'm back to the craft room to start the next batch!  <3 JEM

Below are two Christmas cards I just finished.  This first one makes use of the yummy Blackberry Bliss card stock, champagne glitter paper, linen thread, stars border punch, and Endless Wishes stamp set, all from Stampin' Up.  I love how the glitter paper makes the stars sparkle! CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from Dena Rekow.

This next card uses some coordinating washi tape from last year's holiday catalogue from Stampin' Up.  The background card stock is Pear Pizzazz, and while I didn't have the matching ink pad, I found that the retired Lucky Limeade ink matched pretty well. CASEd from Tara Bazata.

Sympathy Cards

Today I'm sharing two sympathy cards I made back in the summer.  Unfortunately, sympathy cards are one of those things you need in life.

This first card was CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from Amy O'Neill.  I love how this card makes use of the Irresistibly Yours Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Stampin' Up.  It's a thicker paper, as you're meant to add ink to it, but it looks so nice just on its own as well.  The Petite Petals flowers are stamped with Wisteria Wonder, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Pistachio Pudding and punched out.

 I believe this next card was not an official CASE, but I remembered the idea from a stamp camp I attended in the past so I built off of that.  This card uses the yummy colors of Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.  The image was stamped with Memento Black ink, and then the flower part was restamped on the DSP and cut out with scissors.  I curled the edges slightly for a more 3D look.

Butterflies!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  I seem to have a bit of a backlog of cards to post, so I thought today I would share a bunch of butterfly cards I've made since August. 

This first card was ordered by my father in law to give my mother in law for their anniversary.  I used Cherry Cobbler card stock for that nice deep red, the hearts embossing folder, and the butterfly thinlits from Stampin' Up.  The sentiment is from a retired set, and the black heart on the butterfly was from the owl punch.  I CASEd (copy and share everything) from Ann Schach.

This next card is something I had already played around with for this past Mother's Day.  I decided to make use of the Butterfly Basics stamp set and matching thinlits to transform it into this birthday card.  The butterfly antenna are from the Papillion Potpourri stamp set, and I also used a retired mini embossing folder, and the Top Note Bigz Die.  I can't give CASEing credit as there was no name connected to the pin I found on Pinterest.

This card was CASEd from Alison Barclay, a Stampin' Up demonstrator that I found when I rejoined Instagram!  Yes, I am on Instagram as well - you can follow me @ _jemcreations_ if you so desire.  Anyway, this card also makes use of the Butterfly Basics bundle.  I love how the die pieces are put right back into the negative for a totally different look.

I finally pulled out the designer series vellum that I bought way back last Spring!  CASEd from Allison Okamitsu.  I loved coloring on the back of the vellum with the Stampin' Write Markers!

These mini cards were put together to make use of the leftover scraps of vellum from the previous card.  A great tip I found from Brian King (I believe), is to put little tiny dots of glue on the black part of the vellum, and then you can't see it when you adhere it to your card stock.

And finally, a special order for a special 60th birthday celebration!  Box cards are so pretty and worth the bit of extra effort.  This card was CASEd from Nadine Cruse.  I made use of a lot of retired Designer Series Paper on this card.  It might be hard to see in this photo, but on the larger butterflies I used a fun technique.  You "paint" the stamps with sponge daubers to get a cool multicolored effect.

October Stamp Camp

Good evening, everyone!  Hope you're having a lovely October so far.  Tonight I'm sharing the cards that are being made during this month's stamp camps.  I still have space in one upcoming camp on Saturday, October 17th at 10am if you'd like to join in the fun - just let me know if you can make it :)

 This first card uses a stamp set from last year's holiday catalogue and I finally had the chance to haul it out and use it!  It's called Fall Fest, I believe, and I used Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Baked Brown Sugar, and Tangerine Tango ink pads.  The sentiment is from the Cycle Celebration Stamp Set.  A perfect fall birthday card, CASEd (Copy And Share Everything!) from Vicky Hayes.

 This card could work as a sweet thought for someone, and also as a sympathy card.  It features the stamp set Kinda Eclectic.  I stamped it in Whisper White craft ink, Lost Lagoon, and Baked Brown Sugar.  The sentiment is not a Stampin' Up! product.  I can't find the card I CASEd it from, sorry!

 We have one Christmas card in this month's set just as a bit of a teaser.  I want to hold a few camps in November featuring only Christmas cards, but I thought I'd sneak one in for October.  This features the stamp set Winter Wishes, from this year's holiday catalogue, as well as the Hardwood background stamp.  Colors used are Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Sahara Sand, and the Memento Black Ink pad.  CASEd from Lisa Curcio.

 I finally received my Brick Wall embossing folder in the mail, so I was excited to use it in a card!  This also features parts of the Butterfly Basics stamp set and coordinating thinlits dies.  Wisteria Wonder and Sahara Sand were the colors featured here.  CASEd from Mary Brown.

This last card features some lovely paper I received from my husband for our first anniversary.  We follow the traditional anniversary gifts, and paper is the first year.  The stamp set featured is Another Thank You in Hello Honey. CASEd from Raquelle Clifton  Hope you enjoyed!  <3 JEM
