Chocolate Birthday Card and Another Announcement!

Happy Monday!  It's really hard to believe that it's the last day of August already... Where did the month go?  Hubby is back at work and I'm back to full-time mommying.  And the darling baby broke me into that by waking up in the night and being suuuuper cranky today.  New tooth is coming in - so he won't look like he has fangs anymore, thank goodness!

This card (well, one of them) was a special order for a birthday.  The request was for something incorporating wine, chocolates, or.. I don't remember the last item, but oh well!  I borrowed this lovely stamp set from a friend - so grateful.  Just when you think you're starting to build up your arsenal...

Inspiration was found on Pinterest, as usual.  When I make a card, I usually make two, because why not?  The one on the right was actually a "mistake" but ended up being the one that was purchased.  Go figure!  I used some Stampin' Up Crystal Effects on the glass dome to give an illusion of depth and shine.

So, my next item of big news... I decided to become a Stampin' Up demonstrator! I know, right!?  It seems like everyone is going into home sales right now (or at least, everyone I know), so I thought I would take the plunge.  I hope to have a card making event in mid-September - more information to come - where you can just come and make a few cards, no strings attached.  If you'd like to know more, please let me know and I can get the information out to you!  Anyway, time to go make supper.  Have a great evening! <3 JEM

Merry Christmas and a BIG Announcement!

Hey everybody!  This is a big day for me - and I'm so excited that I finally get to let you guys know about it, too!  But first, my first Christmas card batch of the season.  Teaser, I know.

This card is CASED from Michelle Last, a Stampin' Up demonstrator in the UK.  I just love the 'merry' sentiment, as you could literally do the colouring a million different ways.  I think pretty much everything here is from Stampin' Up, except for the white card stock, which is from Michael's.

Okay, okay.. I'll tell you the big news now.  I applied for, and was accepted, as a vendor at the upcoming All Things Pretty Market November 21st and 22nd!!!!!  I'm so shocked.  I didn't really think I'd make it in.  And I'm a bit nervous, cuz it's my first ever craft market.  You can check out their Facebook page for more information, but I'll have some fun things to share along the way, too :)

Have a great evening! <3 JEM

Pop Up Posies Part 2

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Do you have any plans for your weekend?  Today is the first Saturday that we've been to the Farmer's Market since our son was born.. last year!  A bit ridiculous, I know.  We hiked down first thing this morning before it got busy, picked up some yummy local honey, and trekked back home.  It was crisp but quite enjoyable.  On to today's cards!

These cards use some neat flowers from Stampin' Up's Pop Up Posies kit.  I really need to start using my goodies while they're still current and not retired, but I digress.  These little flowers are made with different sized cupcake liner looking paper, which you fold in half, arrange to your liking, and then secure with a brad of your choice.  A bit bulky but really cute!  I used kraft card stock from Michael's, and everything else is Stampin' Up.  Hope you like them!  Oh, and stay tuned to this page on Monday for a VERY exciting announcement!  I'm so pumped to share this with you.. and hopefully have piqued your interest, teehee!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend! <3 JEM

For the Bride and Groom

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Hope you're enjoying the weekend so far.  I'm personally super excited for our renovated bathroom to be finished.  We are like, thisclose to having it done!  I'll definitely share some pictures when it's done.  On to the card of the day.  I made this card for a friend's wedding in July.  I love the simplicity of it with the touch of lace.  The stamp is from the Stampin' Up set: For the New Two.  The sequins are leftover wedding decorations and I think the card stock was from my mom.  Hope you like! <3 JEM

There's Only One You

Hello, everyone!  This is the birthday card I made for my hubby's birthday this year.  It features the stamp sets Feeling Sentimental, Vintage Verses, and Dictionary from Stampin' Up.  I used the Ticket Builder Punch and my Sponge Daubers.  I had lots of fun making this card - I hope you like it! <3 JEM

You're So Vintage

Happy Friday everyone!  Are you all ready for a long weekend?  When hubby is home for the summer we tend to forget about things like that! (Not that I mind, of course!)  Here's a few cards I made recently with a few new-to-me products.  I made this set of four cards after I discovered the super easy technique of offsetting cards.  Previously I had been trying to cut angles properly and stuff, and it sure wasn't too easy.  With this technique, you cut your standard rectangle piece of card stock, layer it if you wish, and then make three cuts.  With the last one, you need to make sure your angle is still going to work for the card, but it's way easier than what I'd been doing before.   Anyway, this first card features the Chalk Talk stamp set from Stampin' Up, as well as the Beautiful Bunch stamp set, which conveniently now comes in a bundle so you can save a bit of money.  All four cards feature the Retro Fresh designer series paper (DSP), which I love!

This card uses the stamp set Peachy Keen from Stampin' Up.  I realized too late that there were coordinating framelits so I could have done some layering with those arrows, but oh well.

This card features the stamp set Timeless Talk, also Stampin' Up.  One thing you'll notice that I decided to leave on as a reminder to myself, is that always check that you haven't inked up a park of your stamp that you don't want showing on the paper!  I always (except apparently this time) check before I stamp that I won't have any unwanted blobs of ink showing up on the final product.

And this last card features the new stamp set from Stampin' Up, That Thing You Did.  I love this stamp set!  The sentiments make for some fun cards.  My favorite one is "You're on my mind!  ...but not in a creepy way!"  I'm going to have so much fun with this set, I think.  Anyway, I gave this card to my father-in-law for his birthday and he was pretty amused, I think(hope, lol).  Anyway, I hope you enjoy a wonderful long weekend!  <3 JEM

Pop Up Posies Designer Kit

Hello and happy Monday to you!  I finally opened up my Pop Up Posies kit from Stampin' Up and found some good ideas on Pinterest to play with.  This first card was made on kraft card stock from Michaels, and the ribbon, designer series paper (dsp), stamp, and embossing powder are from Stampin' Up.  I used a sponge dauber with Baked Brown Sugar ink for the edges of the card.

Everything on this card is from Stampin' Up.  I really like this dsp!

These two boxes were made from Pool Party and Summer Starfruit card stock.  The templates for the boxes are from Pootles.  Love all her creations!  The larger box will fit a number of cards and envelopes inside.

Here's a side view for you.  I just think they are so cute!  I have a few more items in the kit to play with, so hopefully I'll have something else to share soon! <3 JEM
