Erin & Joe

My cousin got married this past weekend and we all traveled out to Winnipeg for the event.  It was a beautiful wedding, held at the Fort Garry Hotel.  Sooo fancy!  Erin's wedding invitations had a vintage/classical theme to them, so I wanted to create something similar.  The cardstock (grey & purple) is from Michael's, and the black string is from another invitation I received.  I love this part - the paper with the embossed design is actually from a Telus flyer that came in the mail (the YOU mirror?), and I embossed it with a friend's Big Shot (Stampin' Up).  The result is sooo cool!  I attached it with a black flower brad from a friend.

I kept the inside simple with a stamp from a set we purchased for our wedding last year.  I hope they liked it and are enjoying their honeymoon!! <3 JEM

Princess Birthday

The hubby has a young cousin who had her birthday recently, and she is really into princesses right now, so I made her a princess card.  The blue cardstock is from our wedding photo display (man, I'm starting to get tired of typing that!), the creamy construction paper is from my hubby, and the pink ribbon and stamps and punch are from Stampin' Up, and the ink is from my mom.

I borrowed a friend's stamps to make it more cutesy - she has a large stash!  I used some crayola markers to color them in, and the stamps for the lettering were mine.  I heard the card was a huge hit! <3 JEM

New Slippers!

Today is new slipper day!  I can't remember which Christmas it was that I received my last pair of slippers from my mom, but let me tell you - it's been a while!  Yesterday the insoles finally wore out of the insides so I decided I could put it off no longer.  I had this yarn from a failed sock attempt (read: prego foot sock size) at Capernwray Harbour Bible School in 2010.  The unwanted sock was still sitting finished in my Mad About Ewe bag(they're a fantastic yarn store in Nanaimo - I'd recommend checking them out if you're in the area!), orphaned and without a mate.  So I frogged it (read: took it apart) and found this super quick and easy pattern on ravelry.  I love the fact that they are easily adjustable for every foot size.  This yarn is self-striping yarn so I'm sure it would've looked better in a different pattern, but you know me: always trying to use what I already have!  Hope you're having a wonderful Tuesday!  <3 JEM

Mother's Day 2012

This was definitely the year for purple.  They are allll purple :)  This first one is for hubby's mom.  The cardstock is from Michael's, the flower stamps are from Stampin' Up, the ink from my mom, and the lettering was mine.

I got a new punch from Stampin' Up (maybe not the best angle for the picture!) and I loves it!  I also used some Sponge Daubers from SU to blend some purple ink onto it.

This card was made for a coworker's mom.  The flower stamp, edger punch, and pearl are all SU, the ink was from my mom and the letter stamps are mine.  The cardstock is from Michael's.

The flower brads were from a friend and the stamps are mine.

This card is for my mom.  The white cardstock is from a friend, the purple from Michael's, and the gold ribbon is from a gift I got from a lady in choir.  The rest is the same as above.

We celebrated Mother's Day with a mass family BBQ!  Yum :)  Hope you all had a great weekend! <3 JEM

For you...

Good afternoon everyone!  Today's card has a very special button on it that I purchased while attending Capernwray Harbour Bible School on Thetis Island, BC.  Man, they have some good yarn stores out on the island!  The cardstock and patterned paper used I purchased at Michael's, and the punch is from Stampin' Up.  The ink was mine and the stamp is from Scrapbooker's Paradise.  I used some twine from a Christmas present from a friend to secure the button to the card.  If you're interested in this card, let me know :)  JEM

Thank You!

Here is a card I gave to my choir director this past week.  I used white cardstock from a friend, and the blue is from our wedding photo display.  I used a background stamp with black ink from Stampin' Up to give the blue cardstock some texture.  Then I used two beautiful leaves from a non-CSA approved light set that I got from my mom.  How could you throw away something that beautiful??  Then I used a punch from SU, and I got the stamp from Scrapbooker's Paradise.  She really liked it :) JEM
