You're So Vintage

Happy Friday everyone!  Are you all ready for a long weekend?  When hubby is home for the summer we tend to forget about things like that! (Not that I mind, of course!)  Here's a few cards I made recently with a few new-to-me products.  I made this set of four cards after I discovered the super easy technique of offsetting cards.  Previously I had been trying to cut angles properly and stuff, and it sure wasn't too easy.  With this technique, you cut your standard rectangle piece of card stock, layer it if you wish, and then make three cuts.  With the last one, you need to make sure your angle is still going to work for the card, but it's way easier than what I'd been doing before.   Anyway, this first card features the Chalk Talk stamp set from Stampin' Up, as well as the Beautiful Bunch stamp set, which conveniently now comes in a bundle so you can save a bit of money.  All four cards feature the Retro Fresh designer series paper (DSP), which I love!

This card uses the stamp set Peachy Keen from Stampin' Up.  I realized too late that there were coordinating framelits so I could have done some layering with those arrows, but oh well.

This card features the stamp set Timeless Talk, also Stampin' Up.  One thing you'll notice that I decided to leave on as a reminder to myself, is that always check that you haven't inked up a park of your stamp that you don't want showing on the paper!  I always (except apparently this time) check before I stamp that I won't have any unwanted blobs of ink showing up on the final product.

And this last card features the new stamp set from Stampin' Up, That Thing You Did.  I love this stamp set!  The sentiments make for some fun cards.  My favorite one is "You're on my mind!  ...but not in a creepy way!"  I'm going to have so much fun with this set, I think.  Anyway, I gave this card to my father-in-law for his birthday and he was pretty amused, I think(hope, lol).  Anyway, I hope you enjoy a wonderful long weekend!  <3 JEM

Pop Up Posies Designer Kit

Hello and happy Monday to you!  I finally opened up my Pop Up Posies kit from Stampin' Up and found some good ideas on Pinterest to play with.  This first card was made on kraft card stock from Michaels, and the ribbon, designer series paper (dsp), stamp, and embossing powder are from Stampin' Up.  I used a sponge dauber with Baked Brown Sugar ink for the edges of the card.

Everything on this card is from Stampin' Up.  I really like this dsp!

These two boxes were made from Pool Party and Summer Starfruit card stock.  The templates for the boxes are from Pootles.  Love all her creations!  The larger box will fit a number of cards and envelopes inside.

Here's a side view for you.  I just think they are so cute!  I have a few more items in the kit to play with, so hopefully I'll have something else to share soon! <3 JEM

CASEing Fun!

Hey all!  Hope you're enjoying summer so far!  I've definitely been enjoying having hubby home for the extra hand with the baby and around the house.  More time for crafting - yippee!  Today the cards I have for you were found on Pinterest and in the new Stampin' Up catalogue.  This first card was CASEd from Pinterest.  I can't decide whether my favorite part is the feathers or the crinkled edges.  I gave this to some friends who just successfully adopted a little boy.

This card is from a new stamp set in the new Stampin' Up catalogue.  When I saw this stamp set called 'That Thing You Did' I just knew I had to add it to my stash.  It has some funny stamps.  I tried the rainbow effect described in the catalogue and I think it looks pretty good.  The colors didn't turn out quite the same though - and it's not very easy to stamp off with photopolymer stamps - but I think it looks okay!  We gave this to a friend who just became a doctor.  Anyway, hope you enjoy the rest of your day! <3 JEM
