All I Want is You

My husband and I sang this at our wedding instead of a first dance.  We recently recorded it for our photographer's website: Eye:58 Photography.  Check it out and let me know what you think!  Personally, I think I sound funny cuz it's in a strange range for me :) JEM

5 Days of Christmas Cards - Day 5

Thanks for checking out my 5 Days of Christmas Cards!  This is probably my favorite card of the bunch, so that's why I saved it for last.  The body of this card is a Lifetouch grad photo holder from my Mom.  I don't know where the recycled Christmas card is from though.  I used some red ribbon across the top to fancy it up, and some foam stickers from Michael's (the Santa and tree ornaments).

For the inside of the card, I slid some nice cardstock (from a makeup invitation from the Bay!!) into the photo slot.  I used some more red ribbon on the top and bottom to unify it with the front of the card.  Then I used the rest of the foam stickers from Michael's.  I really love using those Lifetouch grad photo holders - I think they make the card look more professional.  Well, I hope you liked all these cards!  See you soon!  JEM

5 Days of Christmas Cards - Day 4

I love the front of this card!  I'm pretty sure I got it from my Sister and I think it's so cute.  Plus, the fuzzy snowman is just so cool!  I embellished it with 2 3D stickers from Michael's.

For the body of the card, I used cardstock from the cover of my Capernwray programme handbook.  I incorporated the binding holes for some interesting detail, and added another 3D sticker from Michael's.

The last page of the card has yet another sticker, and some shiny blue paper from my Alaska scrapbooking kit.  I also used this paper behind the binding holes to tie it together.  Feliz was made using my MIL's spice jar label stickers, and I placed it all on a white bridal registry card :)  See you tomorrow for my final and favorite Christmas card!  JEM

5 Days of Christmas Cards - Day 3

Welcome to Day 3 of the 5 Days of Christmas Cards!  I have no idea where i got the front of this postcard from, but I think it's really pretty.  I stuck my logo on the bottom corner and added another 3D sticker from Michael's on the front.  PS, I'm sooo excited.  My sister called yesterday and told me that there's a local company in town that will make my stamp for me :D

I love the print on the back of this card so I wanted to cover as little of it as possible.  Luckily, I had some silver lettering left from my Alaska scrapbooking kit, and I stuck 2 more 3D stickers on the back to keep it simple!  Hope you like it, and see you tomorrow - two more days to go!  JEM

5 Days of Christmas Cards - Day 2

This is a card I think my Uncle and his partner would like - they have a Yorkie :)  The front of this postcard is from my Sister.  I embellished it with a 3D sticker from Michael's.

To cover up the message from my Sister, I used some sparkly creamy paper from my friend's wedding invitation, and used my bubble corner punch to keep with the Christmas ornament theme.  I used 2 more 3D stickers from Michael's, and used some fuzzy stickers and spice jar stickers for the message.  Something I've been thinking about lately is how I could possibly get my own stamp created with my logo.  I think it would look much cleaner and more professional that way.  What do you think?  Does it detract from the card?  See you tomorrow for card #3!  JEM

5 Days of Christmas Cards - Day 1

So we went into Michael's last night because I needed some more adhesive stickers, and they were having "Dollar Days".  Since my lovely hubby gave me a $50 gift card for Christmas, I took the opportunity to look for some treasures.  There was an amazing clearance on all Christmas product, so I stocked up on some goodies.  And used them all today. :D  When else can you get 50 sheets of Christmas letterhead for 84 cents?  Buying clearance stuff for next year definitely has it's benefits!  Anyway, onto the card.  The front of this card was given to me last year by my friend Jen from Capernwray.  I embellished it with some ornament stickers, which I really like cuz they add a 3D effect.

For the body of the card, I used some red paper which I had made a photocopy error on.  I folded it and glued it together so the mistakes are hidden :)  I covered the excess card from the front with some embossed bronzy golden paper and some black ribbon.  Today I discovered craft glue.  I had been hesitant to use it as I wasn't sure how good it was going to be, but I'm really impressed with this stuff.  It sticks very, very well.  I'll probably use it to attach ribbon most of the time.  The stamps are from my Mom (Stampin' Up brand), and the sticker is from Michael's.  See you tomorrow for card #2!  JEM

New Baby Card

This is a card for my friend Heidi who just had her first baby!  I'm pretty proud of this card, I must say.  I actually felt creative :)  The paper doily is from my Mom, and the beaded insects were made for me by a friend many years ago!  The colors are a bit more vibrant in real life - I'm still figuring out my new camera.

The blue paper was from a scrapbooking package I got on my trip to Alaska with my family back in 2006(?), and the stickers are a combination from my sticker collection and the spice jar labels from my MIL.

Simple back page with my signature.

I made this envelope from a quilting calendar my Oma gave to me.  I think it's really pretty.

Trio of Birthday Cards

Well, it's been a while since I had time to make cards, and this past Thursday I had a trio of birthdays that needed cards, so I had to work fast.  This first card is for my Oma.  This is actually the front of a card that I had received one year myself.  I used a music note punch down the sides for fun.
This is the back of the card.  The leopard print paper is a recycled bag, and the ribbon was from a gift box that I saved.  I fastened it in place with several grommets.  I used stamps for the birthday message.  I hope she likes it!!
This next card is for my best friend, Anne.  This is actually a business card - a very large business card - that I picked up at a art and design show in England.

I covered up the girl's contact information with some textured purple paper from my Mom, and used a quote from a friendship calendar from a friend.  This quote was on January 12th, so I knew it was meant to be!  The happy birthday lettering is actually stickers for spice jars I got from my MIL!  The brads holding the leaf down were from my Mom, but I don't know where I actually got the leaf from.  The creamy paper is from a friend's wedding invite and I used my edger punch on the purple paper to fancy it up a bit.
This last card was for my Uncle.  It's a bit amusing to me that the card I recycled is actually once HIS mother sent to me for my birthday.  Gotta keep it in the family, right?  Anyway, I used my corner punch on the top of this cuz it reminded me of bubbles.

The paper on the back of the card is a combination of the back of the birthday card that I cut out, and stuff I recycled from my friend's wedding invitation.  The green bow was from a starbucks gift card I received many years ago (I think), and I used my bronze marker from our wedding guest book for the message.  I have 3 more cards to make this weekend, so be sure to check back soon for some more!  <3, JEM
